Opting Out of Private Rental Services
If you want to opt out of renting out your property, you have to fill in one of the following forms.
(Request to cancel the approval for renting out a personally-owned property as tourist accommodation)
The first section of this form asks for your name and surname; address; your place and date of birth; your OIB (personal identification number); your mobile or fixed phone number; your e-mail address.
In the second part you need to fill in the numbers as given on your rental permit, with the date from which it ran. You have to sign this section where it says potpis podnositelja zahtjeva.
With the request you have to provide: 1) a photocopy or scan of your rental permit;
The form and the necessary documents should be sent to the address as given on the form:
Upravni odjel za turizam i pomorstvo u Hvaru or by email: pisarnica.hvar@dalmacija.hr
If you send the request in by post, you need to send it registered, together with a confirmation slip of receipt (povratnica), which will be returned to you, so that you know exactly when it has arrived. The safest bet is to send in the documentation by e-mail, as well as by post.
Zahtjev za djelomičnu odjavu odobrenja za pružanje usluga u domaćinstvu
(Request for partial cancellation of the approval for renting out a personally-owned property as tourist accommodation)
This form follows the same format as the one to cancel the rental approval entirely.
Payment is made to the bank account, details as above:
The request has to be sent to the Hvar office: Upravni odjel za turizam i pomorstvo u Hvaru (in person or by post), or by email: pisarnica.hvar@dalmacija.hr
but also to:
SPLITSKO-DALMATINSKA ŽUPANIJA, Pisarnica, Upravni odjel za turizam i pomorstvo, 21000 Split, Vukovarska 1
Important note: The various payments attached to renting out properties should of course stop from the time the property has been removed from the rental market. HOWEVER, it has been known for the Hvar tax office to charge for the flat-rate tax due for quarterly payments even after the cancellation of rental rights. Some experts advise making the cancellation as from the end of a year, with this in mind. It’s probably best to seek professional advice before deciding exactly when to cancel, as the regulations are subject to change from year to year.
