Restaurant Turan is a small family restaurant in the old town of Jelsa with a tradition of more than 20 years.
The resounding name ‘Turan’ is attributed to an interesting, antique wine press. In the inner part of the restaurant there is an old wine press (turan) in which our ancestors used to make wine.
Today we serve wine in beautiful, unique glasses. The old, wine press makes us recognizable and we are proud of the tradition we are trying to preserve.
The outside of our terrace will especially enchant you. While enjoying your meal, you are surrounded by various mandarin and lemon trees whose scent evokes the beauty of this area. Vine, symbol of Dalmatia, has a special beauty.
Our restaurant offers modern dishes, but also delicacies of domestic Dalmatian cuisine. We prepare grilled dishes (fish, meat and vegetables). We are principally specialized in the preparation of various traditional meals such as peka, gregada and fish stew made in lopiža (clay pot).
For all vegetarians and people allergic to gluten, we offer a large selection of dishes.
Our specialties are crepes suiset, fish steak tartar and flambéed carbonara. We offer something special, organic, and healthy – our homemade olives, olive oil, wine vinegar, various jams, delicious liqueurs, brandies. We grow the vegetables ourselves in our eco garden.
